Transmission Line EPC Projects

Connecting Generation to Demand

Every new solar park, wind project, industrial facility, and expanding city creates a need for stronger transmission infrastructure.

That connection is what OPTL builds.

Transmission lines form a critical part of the electricity supply chain. They move bulk power from generation sources, often located far from centres of demand, to substations closer to where electricity is ultimately consumed.

Operating at high voltages allows power to travel long distances e ciently, while interconnected transmission networks provide greater grid stability by allowing electricity to be balanced and rerouted when demand, supply, or system conditions change.

We are also increasingly important to India’s renewable energy transition. Solar and wind projects are often developed in geographically remote areas, making robust transmission infrastructure essential to bringing that generation into the main grid.

We take pride in operating as a turnkey EPC contractor across transmission line projects from 11 kV to 400 kV.

Our scope covers the complete project lifecycle, from route survey, detailed design and engineering and site preparation through procurement, tower foundation, erection, conductor stringing, testing, commissioning, and statutory approvals where applicable.

On the supply side, we procure and supply towers, conductors, conductor hardware, optical bre cables, stringing accessories, and associated materials through approved vendors, in accordance with prescribed quality standards and technical specifcations.

On the execution side, our teams manage excavation, foundations, back lling and levelling, tower erection, stringing, testing, commissioning, site supervision, inspection, and other activities required to bring the line into operation.

For private-sector projects, we take responsibility for the applicable statutory approvals and regulatory clearances. For government projects, these approvals are typically managed by the relevant authority.

We also remain responsible for ful lling contractual obligations throughout execution, including managing project works, supervising site activities, conducting inspections and tests, and addressing any damage or loss arising during construction.

Since inception, we have commissioned more than 1,000 CKM of transmission lines.

In the last three scal years alone, we have designed, engineered, and constructed more than 400 CKM, across voltage levels ranging from 11 kV to 400 kV.

The objective remains straightforward:

Build a transmission line that works. Deliver it responsibly. Stand behind it. Our mantra!

Transmission Lines Process

Route Finalization

We conduct detailed route assessments to determine the most efficient and feasible transmission line path. This includes evaluating terrain, environmental factors, right-of-way requirements, and regulatory considerations to ensure optimal project planning.

Detailed Survey

Comprehensive field surveys are carried out to gather accurate geographical, technical, and environmental data. These surveys form the foundation for precise engineering design and smooth project execution.

Procurement

We procure high-quality transmission materials such as towers, conductors, insulators, and hardware from approved vendors. All materials comply with required technical specifications and industry quality standards.

Erection

Our experienced teams execute tower erection and structure installation with strict adherence to engineering designs, safety protocols, and project timelines to ensure structural reliability.

Testing

Rigorous testing procedures are conducted to verify the mechanical and electrical integrity of the transmission system, ensuring compliance with project specifications and operational standards.

Commissioning

After successful testing, the transmission line is commissioned and integrated into the power network. This stage ensures the system operates safely, efficiently, and reliably for long-term performance.
